    Default Cant removing f***ng radio

    Hi all,
I have just bought a parot handsfree and am trying to remove my stereo to connect to the rear. I have removed the tiny grub screws and have bought a double din pin tool from halfords and am still having now joy.

When I push the prongs into the holes it seems to go all the way in but does not unlatch the fascia. Am I doing something stupidly wrong or can this just be a bit tempermental?

As an alternative I have read that I can remove the glove box to gain acess to the rear of the stereo? - is this right|

    Many thanks, Nick

You need to angle the forks when you pull them back, they can be a right pig to get out, just keep your cool and persevere!!

As above, it took me a good 15 minutes of wriggling and adjusting the forks to finally get them to grip the inside of the stereo to remove it from the cage.

I watched Plasma dismantle Fil4822's car to get one in at Trax, I have never seen so many wires hanging from a car!! LOL!

If you have any trouble, Plasma is the guy to ask!!

    Hey,

Thought i would tackle the radio again today, after 30 mins still no joy. I perservered with the forks for about 20mins then decided to see if I could get to the cables by removing glove box but thats tighter than a nuns.... behind there.

I have never known a stereo to be such a pain to get out. I am pushing the forks in as far as they will go, there doesn't seem to be any clicks or sounds like they have pushed a spring back. I will try again with a coat hanger as this may be thinner but has anyone any other bright idea's???.. other than take to a vauxhall dealer (I feel like such a failure lol)

After you insert the removal prongs, gently pull them apart against spring tension then withdraw the stereo. This compresses the springs and engages the prongs on the unit to enable withdrawal.

Hi when you get forks in pull them outwards right side towards drivers door an left towards passinger door, this should grip stereo then while still applying pressure pull it out , good luck.
