    Default Would you be crying

Last week i helped one of my neighbour,s source some RS wheels for his Audi A3 went up to mitcham tyres in s e london had them fitted with new tyres , monday night he came calling brought us a bottle of wine as a thankyou for helping him.
now the crying bit i saw him this morning sitting at curb side outside his dad,s restaurant head in hands .
in the last two days he,s kurbed not 1 but 3 of his new wheels one so bad he,ll probably have to get a replacement.
all in cost for wheels +tyres £850.
just how sick would you be .

Ouch, you'd think by the time you get to put expensive rims on that your curbing days are well behind you. man, the troubles I go to avoid curbing the rims border on

I try not to park under trees (for lengthy periods or overnight - tree sap and bird crap).
Where possible I never park next to other cars in supermarkets, especially 4x4's and mpv's. If you have to park next to a car, make sure it's the newest cars (sure bet the owners still care about their cars too).
Dip the mirrors when reverse parking.
Inspect the side body panels when returning.

    Have I missed anything?

    Ouch thats bad.
i make sure that i dont kurb any more i either bump alittle on the kurb to avoid it. what makes it easier is that i have tyres that overlap the alloy alittle bit so it has saved me a few times

I would feel exactly the same.

TBH This is one of the main reasons that I have not changed over to alloys myself. Mine came with the (alloys look) VX steel structure wheels, and have on a few occasions been tempted to move up to alloys, however, having seen the many postings on here where users have ended up damaging their alloys, including my son last week who badly scraped one of his alloyss on his merc SLK, I've decided to stick with the imitation alloys. Afterall they cant be that bad, as they fooled the tyre fitter when I had some new tyres fitted recently. (He asked for the security tool so he could remove them...LOL)
Much cheaper to buy a new £20 trim.

I NEVER park next to 4X4's...seen so many kids getting in/out clunking the cars next to them - & they leave so little space next to them. I go for "end" spaces if I can, if not then in a space where the 2 either side have a nice "gap" also park a bit away from the kerb, dont care if people dont think i can park..at least my alloys dont get scraped!
