CAR2005 Issues

The CAR2005 in my 2004 Vectra SRI has developed an annoying problem in that the volume button on the stereo does not work. The stereo turns on but is only controllable via steering wheel buttons for volume - it also does not light up now! Anyone else had similar problems?

I am guessing a replacement stereo will be the option - would a second hand CAR2005 needs programming at Vauxhall to my car? It is the model with six buttons on the steering wheel rather than the later roller wheel

Common fault on the CDR 2005 stereo. My sons corsa has the same problem but he just lives with it. Light is more of an issue especially at night, don't know if lamp replacement is possible. A second hand unit would be OK if you have the code, no need for Vauxhall to programme it. Some units have been unlocked and don't need a code.
