Default Oil Woes. Electrical/Mechanical im not sure

Firstly move this if its in the wrong place.

Had to do a 400 mile round trip the other day. (short weekend break)

Pre checked the car before i left and topped up a bit of engine oil. as i always do pre flight checks its done 70k now and burns a very small amount of oil over lots of miles.

Right near the start of my journey the radio packed in showed radio one but i had no volume controls etc... (not sure if its related but never happend before)

Near the end of the first 200mile trip the oil light showed in my oil selector window (where the auto box gears are displayed). (warning low oil says in the book anyway as far as i can work out.). So i pulled over and turned her off. Checked oil and it was fine. no foam in it and also coolant was fine. But i notice the center display is still on even after ages with the keys out etc. Still jammed.

Turn the car on again and the warning is gone. Finish journey. But LCD screen stays on all night.

In the morning i looked through the fuses. When i pulled out and replaced the radio fuse center display went back to normal.

(so i rang my local when at home vauxhall garage and they told me not sure get it in to us, oil change filter etc 100+ quid.)

Anyway i was nearly 100 miles away from nearest dealer so i though ok lets check here over and drive home (200 miles). Which i did took it steady and no problems or lights. But i now have no little red oil pressure light when i turn on ignition and it dosnt come on at all.

Any ideas? all fluid levels are fine as i check and ive been looking for any blown fuses.

    Sorry for long post.

the level indication could just be a duff sensor in the front of the sump..

the CD unit playing up and the dash unit playing up i think are related...pulling the fuse on the CD unit just reset it, thats all.. so this leaves you with 2 options..

either do the battery disconnect for 10 mins and wipe and reset everything. Then see if it comes back again..

Or, take it to somewhere who can read the cars modules and see what they have recorded

it will wipe any codes, but it will also force any dodgy ECU's into doing a 'hard reset' so any fault codes found later on will be new and fresh and relevant to the current problem.. less likely to lead the fitter up the garden path..

Found the problem faulty oil pressure sensor. They reset it all at the garage and is working fine again now. sensor is £20.
