Default GSi, SRi, VXR... what is what?

    Hi

As in Hungary we have different coding of the models....
Can you describe me what these codes mean, please?

GSi stands for the 3.2L N/A model, but I'm not sure if there are additional differences in the range of 3.2L

VXR is just for the 2.8 T or .... ?

    and all the rest...

    thanks!!!

    Default

    3.2 v6 - GSi/Elite
    2.8T - VXR

The SRi has a range of petrol and diesel engines and in my opinion there is'nt a lot that makes it stand out from the rest of the lower vehicles in the range.

GSi - Low/hard suspension for better handling, 17inch wheels, sporty looks, sporty interior, 1/2 leather interior and lots of toys and the list goes on this a sporty car.

Elite - Suspension designed for comfort, wood effect bits on interior, full leather interior this also has lots of toys but is designed and aimed for a more motorway cruising style of driving.

Is the VXR not called OPC in mainland Europe? SRI is called GTS. Not sure but is the Elite called COSMO? Or maybe I'm just thinking of what they are called in Spain.

Now (after the comments) I think the similarities are:

    OPC >> VXR
The factory tuned, most powered versions (even in Corsa, Astra, Zafira)

    GTS >> GSi
The GTS models have the lowered suspension, sporty body-kit (e.g. the bigger front bumper) and 5 doors chassis and ESP button and ....
Strange that you can/could ask for GTS package with 1.8 or 2.0/2.2 diesel engines, too.

    Cosmo >> Elite
More 'luxury' features and less sporty functions (no ESP off, higher suspension)

GM mixing the whole story up... and no Siggy in Australia (Holden) and no Monaro for Europe outside the UK

    One correction:

GSI >> GTS with 3.2V6 (prefacelift)

    SRI >> GTS
