    Default Lowering Question

    Here's a question:

If I have an LS Vectra and lower it on lowering springs by -35mm, it will sit at height "A".
If an Sri was lowered by -35mm, would it sit exactly the same as the LS after that had been lowered or would my LS still sit higher?
The reason I ask is because the Sri already sits -20mm lower than an LS.

    Got your head round that!?!?

Yep. They'd end up the same height.

But then if I owned an SRI and bought -35mm springs, I'd expect it to sit 35mm lower than what it did already.
If my LS sits 20mm higher than an SRI, surely I'd need to lower it 55mm to be at the same height as the lowered SRI???

No. Any figures quoted are lower than standard height. The SRi is -20mm lower than standard. Eibach springs will lower -30mm over standard, regardless what height you start at.

Oh I see! Cheers Paul, that answers it.
So to sum up then, if I've got an SRI and think by fitting -35mm springs the distance between top of tyre and arch will reduce by 35mm, then I'd be wrong.
If howerever I have an LS and fit the same springs, the distance will reduce by 35mm.
    Sorted.

Yes that's correct & I'm sat here waiting for my eibachs to arrive impatiently...

Mot time this week, & it will not pass with the broken standard front spring.

    hence the lowering...

To pick up on that point, what springs would be recommended to lowerr and SRi Estate by approx 30-40 mm?

I wouldn't want to spend my hard earned and find my car has dropped just 10mm
