    Default Anyone familiar with a "Swirl Pot" problem?

    As title, car has been diagnosed with a faulty swirl pot and will need a new manifold as part of the repair, Ive been quoted over £600

    2 weeks ago I had the 3rd fuel injector go along with some wiring loom repairs that were needed, costing £250.

    So, Im wondering first is this a common problem and has it happened to anyone else ? And also got my car valued at 3k (its an 04 1.9CDTI SRI - 105k) so am alsowondering is the engine completely ****ged and should I cut my losses now and get rid ?

    very common problem...but 'easily' mixed with the new modified manifold....

    i'd not get shot of it, as once swapped there's little chance of it failing again...

    the swirl valve 'fail' is just part and parcel of the 1.9 CDti ownership..

    I`m just thinking that with that many miles its just a matter of time before another big repair bill comes my way - such as a turbo or gearbox!

    for a modern diesel it's barely 1/2 way through it's life..
