In this thread www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57428 i gave the car a bit of a clean, polish and waxing at the weekend.

The final waxing was with R222 which i have seen somewhere, is not the longest lasting wax.

I have ordered this Collinite-no-476s-super-doublecoat-auto-wax from here www.cleanyourcar.co.uk.

Is the 476s a better wax or just longer lasting?

How long,on average does R222 last before car requires rewaxing?

    Colin

Don't know much about R222 other than it used be P21 which had a reputation of producing a great finish but poor durability. R222 seems to have ditched the Beeswax content and is now 100% Carnauba. (As in no other waxes in it.)

476 is very durable and should last for considerably longer. My car was still beading after 2 months (although I used 915 which is very similar)

Last weekend I used P53 Black Pearl for the first time. The beading is unbelievable but have yet to find out how it compares to 915.
All this assumes of course that beading is the measure of durabilty.

Its a case of personal preferance to be honest, i found that the p21 would last a couple of weeks but the collinite considerably longer. P21 gave a slighty and i mean slighty better finish imo so in the end i combine the 2. 2 coats of 476 on top of this a coat of p21, gave a great finish and i top up as and when i feel like it as opposed to when it needs it. Mind you i love cleaning the darn thing anyway so its not really a chore!

I have the P53 too, the beading is great and seems to last well, will be interested to see how it compares to the collinite's.

I use the 3D wax from AutoBrite. On the Vec, the wax I gave it for PVS was still very much evident when I sold it 2 months later. I'll have to wait and see how well it fares over winter with the Signum
