only had 1 call about the car so far

what do people think it is worth in todays market please?? (have dropped the price to £8500 as i think asking £9k might have been a bit ambitious)

i have 3-4 weeks to sell so i dont want to give it away, but still need to sell if you get me

Buying and selling cars has become a bit of an unwitting hobby for me. My other half reckons I change the car more than I change my underwear. Having said that, I own my car outright and I haven't lost a penny in depreciation for the last 3 years. I've had 3 Vec Cs amongst other things and at the moment, I'm driving a Lexus LS400, easily the best all-round car I've ever driven.

Your car books at £7650 as a top notch trade-in in Glass's guide. I'd be willing to bet that no dealer would offer within £750 of that figure in todays market unless they were making a killing on whatever you were trading against. The thing is, without being disrespectful, you'd struggle to own a more common car. There are literally hundreds of them for sale and at the moment, nobody is buying for a number of economic reasons. Used diesels as a market sector are way down on sales in the last 3 months.

In short this means that its a buyers market and exactly as penfold says, it'll sell for what people are willing to pay. To sell quickly, you either need to be selling something that is a cut above the rest or you need to be selling cheaper than most.

The age of your car means it should really be in excellent condition anyway so your only real tool to sell the car in a reasonable amount of time is to sell at a realistic price. I think 3 weeks could be termed as a very quick sale considering the amount of diesel Vecs for sale and the current state of the used market.

I'd say you're realistically looking at selling around the £7k mark. Advertise for £7250 to £7500.
