Just a few snaps of what rapidly became Re-Map day with several members leaving with a bit more under the bonnet then when they arrived. More on that story later...
Chris and Lou's Veccy B proudley wearing the kit associated with living in the country.
Two Edition 100 cars this time.
Very Smart VXR.
Very Smart VXR Baz style.
Chris's GSI. Nice to see and your good lady again fella.
The little Fella takes on the Stig. 5th at this point only to be demoted to 6th a short while later.
John keeps the MPG girls entertained with a quick history if the 2.0 turbo engine and all derivates 2002-2004.
And so on to the draw to win an EDS remap. First one out of the hat was Angus from Aberdeen who it turned out hadn't turned up. So whilst we all did our best to put on a Scottish accent and shout, "I'm Angus" Ian arranged a redraw.
This time the winner was present. He's only had his Astra VXR for two months bought as a retirement present to himself. One happy Bunny.
Then Ian announced that all those present who had entered would receive a whopping 35% discount on a map if done today. So whilst I kicked myself for not entering all hell broke lose as the queue at the main reception began.
On thing I wasn't aware of is that you can also buy a box of tricks similar to the BSR one whereby you can remove the map and then put it back on or load a different one with different power and torque settings.
So another great day out in the NW. Thanks to Drinky and Ian for organising it and for Ian at MPG for the invitation extended to Vectra-C. Nice to see everyone again especially the guys who travelled a distance to get here.
....and finally all those hours of constant gaming on the PS3 finally paid off for Connorl as he took the runner up spot in the Stig challenge.
Result subject an objection by the FIA on account of his car wasn't red.
