We were going to Falmouth to see the boats getting ready for the Tall Ships Race. The Sat Nav sent us to the Ferry at St Maw,s.
Were were just about to board to Ferry when there was one heck of a bang. I looked in my rear view mirror and shouted Bl00dy Hell. Larisa said WHAT has someone hit us. No I said we are ok. Then I turned my engine off and ran from my car back to a bend in the road where a car had "missed" the bend and gone through the fence. I shouted for help from the ferry men.
Then I clambered through the vegetation treading a path for those who I hoped would come and help. I pulled Two middle aged people, a man and a woman from the car. The car was on it,s side. The air bags had gone off and the car was full of smoke. The man and woman were not injured but heavy to lift out of the car. By the time I had got the woman out there were several people there to assist. But I did not realise at the time that I was about a foot from the edge of the wall, as it was covered in vegetation and one false step and I would have dropped into the sea 50 foot down. I guided the man to the rear of the car and then did the same to the lady, she said she had left her purse in the car so I climbed back in and retreived it for her. The men from the ferry said well done to me. But as I was blocking the other cars from getting on the Ferry I did not stop long enough for the man and woman to thank me. I was just glad they were ok and that I was able to help them.
This photo I took from the Ferry as we crossed the river.
