1.8 flat spot...

Do all 1.8's suffer with a flat spot around 4k?? just curious really

Not sure if the VVTI will be different to mine as its a 04 Z18XE.

Probably the MAF meter going south.

Well mines lost most of the flat spots now anyway, had this really annoying one at 4k which has since gone since I pulled out the airbox. So now it revs freely throughout the rev range.

Its just a basic Powerflow induction kit nothing hugely special.

I tired a K&N panel filter and notice no difference what so ever.

I have just acquired a 12 month old 1.8 VVT which has exactly this symptom. Significant flat spot when pulling away and changing from 1st to 2nd.

Has anyone come up with a fix?
