Some Help With Spring Seat Mod Please..

I've bought the nylon sleeves to go round the bottom ends of the springs to cure the intermittent twanging noise on my wife's Signum (new anti-roll bar links all round had no effect), but the dealer has also supplied (without being asked to) two black rubber disks, with notches on one face.

As I didn't ask for these, I'm making assumptions as to how they are to be fitted - please correct me if you know I'm wrong:

1) The rubber disks go on the rear springs not the fronts - correct?

2) They go at the bottom of the spring, not at the top - correct?

3) There's already a very similar rubber disk fitted at the base of each rear spring, the difference being that it has a cone at the centre, whereas the one's I've just bought have a hole in the centre. Do the new ones replace the existing ones or sit on top of them, to be sandwiched by the old rubber disk and the spring?

if the new discs are thin, they are to go under the top plate of the front suspension strut as well as the 'mod' on the lower tail of the spring....

They're about 4mm thick. I spoke to the Vx dealer who sold me them and all he could say was they were showing on EPC as being for "lower rear suspension"....?
