    Default Hard drive players

I remember a few years ago you could get a number of hard drive mp3 players that you could place anywhere in the car then had a remote display that you placed on your dash. Two such players were the neo juke box and the dension (there were a number of units made by them but i cant remember the model numbers). These appear to no longer be made. Does anyone know of an equivalent that can still be purchased?

    Thank you

    Stephen

You can get headunits now that have a USB port to which you can connect a 2.5" external USB2 hardrive which will give you the same effect.

Blaupunkt do some good ones http://www.bluespot.co.uk/usb.asp

Ah.. I'm looking for the same thing as well, looks like I may go for one of the Blaupunkt amps that allow two sources and get a Harmon Kardon iPOD kit to allow me to plug my iPOD in without having to use an FM modulator.

I junked my Neo just a week or two ago. Clever piece of kit, especially with the freeware operating system upgrade that came along.
However, my 60Gb iPod is 6 times the capacity, 1/6th the size and half the price!

I do see your point but untill a dedicated kit comes along to connect it to the stock headunits it means having your Ipod on show and having to use that to control what song your listening to.

Yeah its just that it still means controlling it from the Ipod. So to change tracks i would have to look down at the cup holder.

I apreciate that the answer may just be to set up playlist that i like and just let it play.

In my previous car i had a car PC so used to all the functions and advantages of that. But was trying to keep things stock in this one as i always end up changing cars after a few months.
