    Default Eurotunnel Fire

Well i Was supposed to be on the 23.16 eurotunnel train out of Folkestone tonight with me Veccy, planned on going to france for 2 days with a mate, We could still go as i've phoned up and asked when it's likely to be running again after the earlier fire and i was offered a ticket for a P&O ferry later tonight... Not sure whether to give it a miss as the traffic jams are supposedly horrendus both side of the Channel.. Eurotunnel offered a full refund if we don't go, so maybe we'll just postpone it for a bit..

Think i would give it a miss, traffic will be crap for days. Was anyone hurt? haven't seen anything about it yet?

I believe it happened at around 4pm, there are reports that 15 or so people suffered smoke inhalation, hopefully most people will go on the ferries with the tickets handed out for P&O ferries, Would go on the ferry myself but not sure how i'd get on if its rough and we were taking the dogs which means leaving them in the car alone during the crossing which i don't think is very fair to them..

Operation Stack is in operation so M20 is shut from Maidstone to Ashford so avoid M20. I would suggest going to Dover on the M2 but that is the route most people use when Stack is on!

Eurotunnel people told us to go straight to Junction 11 if we wanted to go on the ferry, but still at home at the mo.. Waiting to see the eurotunnel update due at 10pm before making a decision..

The word on the local news is that there won't be much change at 10pm! But they aren't always reliable!!!

What is it and how is it communicated to the public? - Clearly i'm not not from down that way, but it all sounds like interesting stuff to know
