Go for a 2.2 Direct. I'm now on my second Direct auto after changing from a 2.2 DTi auto that was nothing but trouble
No rattles on my 2005 direct, my Audi had loads.
I don't get the car tax objection. If you want the car does £100 make a difference? Would you walk away if the buying price went up £100? Thats less than two tanks of fuel.......
I don't get it either.
Even the high tax cars are even more cost effective, if you don't do a huge amount of miles. What's the difference between 30 and 35 mpg if you're only doing 6K a year? Less than £150.
So if the purchase price has dropped by 2K (and some have dropped a lot more), then there is no financial justification for avoiding bigger engines due to tax or extra fuel costs - assuming you don't do a lot of miles.
