Flip key rant!

Ok so I am after a flip key to replace my worn current key. I know that on here people have been getting them for £36ish + coding and cutting etc. So why is it that all my garages in the area say its £51-£56 just for the key and £35 to code it! I mean for 5 mins work ffs!

Aparently is because they need to unplug the "machine" and take it to my car to code the key. When I said its a 5 Min job all he could say was VW Charge a lot more! Oh, the cost of the key varies because of their supplier!

Edit: got the coding down to £23 now, but the key is still £55

Yep all Vauxhall dealers have to fax off an order and they come in the post to the dealers.

Yep only things we got from an outside supplier was complete lock sets as Vauxhall don't like doing them.

Thanks Dan I thought as much. He didn't know what to say when I suggested that! I hate being lied too! ****ing dealers trying to justify their outragous costs!
