    Default Unusual "feature"?

Like most drivers, I can't stand having someone tailgating me. On the M25 yesterday I had some ****** in an old Astra right up my behind and, as usual, I rested my left foot on the brake so that my lights would come on and make the guy pull back.

When I removed my foot, I felt the car start to slow slightly so gave it a bit more gas, but to no effect. I floored it and nothing happened...

It was only when I completely removed my right foot from the throttle and reapplied it that I got power back.

Anyone else had this happen to them? I don't know how I've not noticed this before, as I tried it a few more times when the road was clear and every time I lost power until I let the pedal go fully.

Is this a computer glitch or a feature?

my old dti used to do that too, , its part of the fly by wire system, basicly if you put your foot on the brake, its cuts the injectors or something..

The engine ECM will reduce engine output if the brake pedal is depressed enough to actuate the brake switch. My old DTi used to do it on the clutch pedal as well.
If you continue pressing the brake pedal and lift off the acc completely you will notice normal service if you then re-apply the acc.

It is a feature and not a fault.

I have thought about getting one of those programable matrix signs in the back windows, saying things like 'You're too close' or 'back off *****' - or maybe other words to that effect. BUT they are fairly expensive.

I have even pondered simply writing it on a piece of cardboard and sticking it in the rear window.
