I have noticed the rear view mirror dimming down on the motorway as iv been doing a bit of night time driving , is it possible that the drivers door mirror is also auto dimming aswell ? and if so should the passenger side dim aswell ?

Yes some models had a dipping drivers mirror, but I don't recall a dipping passenger mirror, just a reversing aid on it of some sort.
cheers mate . thought the passenger side was faulty but it all makes sense now .
doesnt the auto dimming door mirror have a rubber surround around it so you know its the correct one??
No idea, not got it, or sure any members who do.
okies, lets clear this one up... The autodimming exterior mirror (drivers side) was mainly fitted to the 'elites' due to the extra wiring which is needed in the body loom. The actual glass does have a black rubber surround around it so that is how you would tell if yours has it or not. The passenger side one on the 'elites' have auto-dip which is where when you stick it in reverse it angles towards the ground so you can check your wheels against the kerb whilst parking.
thanks for that mate .
Thats sorted out my mirror problem , although i havent noticed the passenger side tilt when i engage reverse ,
it is an 06 plate elite .
I havent noticed mine dipping when reverse selected (56plate elite) Ill check tomorrow, but if I move the drivers side mirror down the passenger one does aswell, it mirrors what i do with the drivers side etc, this is helpful for parking as you only have to move one mirror and both do the same.
Thats a shame! My Elite's mirror does'nt dip when selecting reverse.........
