Default CD30 swap to CDC40 Opera

    Hi,
Does anyone know if it is a straight swap to remove CD30 radio and to fit CDC40 Opera.
    Thanks

You will need to have the CDC 30 tech 2'd out and the CDC 40 tec 2'd in and install the aerial and other ancilliary parts, the best person to speak to is Merikiito as I am sure he has done this mod, but make sure the one you get is modified as it will give you problems if it hasn't been done.

Not a straight swap, you will also need the hi res screen and dab ariel, got this done on the wifes SRi.

Yep u will need the matching screen. Depending on the CDC40 it may be DAB or not. You only need the dab ariel if you want DAB. The HU and screen will have needed to be code free and will need to be TEch2'd into your car. If it shows "DAB error" then u will need to get the DAB disabled via TECH2.

Hi, just bought cdc40 opera off e-bay complete with hi-res screen. ebay listing showed the display working on top of HU so hopefully it is code free. I don't know if it has DAB or not. I'll just have to wait and see when it arrives. Will the hi-res screen work okay showing me the trip computer and outside temperature instead of the dot matrix one.

When I seen it on ebay the radio and screen had been powered up using a car battery and you could see the CD display on the screen. Hopefully it has been Tech2'd.

The components need to be matched together or tech 2 reset to be usable...if the head unit and colour display are shown working then they are still paired...
Saying that though if the parts have been reset then they will still work but a "SAFE" message will flash up every 5 seconds or so...
If they are still matched, then you would also need the original d a b unit that would also be matched...you cannot match up separate components in anything other than the original car...
Sounds as clear as mud...but I know what I meant..

Hi, Haven't had time to fit yet as I have just returned from a two week holiday in glorious sunshine in gran canaria. The garage in the evenings seems to be too cold at the moment until my body redjusts to winter weather.
