    Default wheel bolt dethreaded

Hello all first time on the forum. I have a query. while checking my brake pads on front of my vectra i have noticed one of the wheel bolts has been dethreaded. do i have to purchase a complete new hub or could i get away with a rethreading tool. Your help would be appreciated many thanks

Hi mate, pretty suprised no one has replied....

Depends on the extent of the damage to be honest mate...has the stud stripped? if so the hub may clean up with a tap....

Get someone to look at it for you to see the extend of the damage ,You may be lucky...or have to replace the hub...

Heres hoping its not the later.

    Chris.

    P.s welcome to the club.

i dont know a great deal about this to be honest,

like dose said i should get it checked out by thr pro's........ but personally for safety reasons i would replace the hub i dont think it would ever be as strong as it should be cause its a layer of metal stripped away,
    probs expense you dont want,

my old dad used to say better to be safe then sorry

    welcome to vectra-c though!!

The bolt is the bit that you take off when you remove the wheel....do you mean the threaded hole the bolt goes into is de-threaded?

Remember, most people may have been at Trax yesterday

As has already been said, which bit is damaged, is it the bolt that has no thread or the hole? Which thread has been stripped?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

The threaded hole in the hub is stripped as is the actual bolt too.

Has the bolt left its thread behind in hub giving the appearance that the hub thread is stripped? If it has it might clean out and you would only need a new bolt

I would try to tap the thread out in the hole and try a new bolt. It may well need a new hub
