Eek 1.9 cdti major problem help needed

hi all i have a major problem!!!

i took the wife to work this morning and i have noticed the car struggled to start but did start, on the way i went through a puddle on the road.

as soon as i hit the water the abs light came on so did the traction control light... as did the steering wheel ! warning (the steering went stiff) so i struggled home.

the heater blower went off and came back on too

i ordered a new battery and found it made no difference as when i went to start the car it wont turn over at all the old battery was the same and it looked almost dead on the tester (25% charge)

any ideas? cos im stuffed here! with my veccy 1.9 cdti (150)

How deep was this puddle? You could have killed the alternator, is it charging the battery? A test on the battery while the engine is running should give about 14.4 volts hth

Yeah they may well, but they are probably used to water problems. I'd chech any and all multiplugs, but do not unplug the one to the ecu, think i remember reading thats a big no no. How did you use a tech 2 if it hasn't been to a main dealer?

its a ebay code reader ,it just gives you any fault codes pending or current and does real time data, it works ok but isnt finding anything .

the main fault i was worried about was the engine was hard to stard anf the engine shook when being cranked.

i had the clutch done and the garage did not fit all the engine mounting bolts 1 long one at the front (the main one) and a smaller bolt on the driver side mount where it goes through the plastic cover.

not sure where these connectors are but all looks ok in the engine bay fuse box and the door side fuse box,top multi connectors look dry too (on the abs and beside it....baz

You don't think it sucked in any water do you? Unlikely but could it have done? have you checked the airbox is dry?
