    Default Stainless exhaust and insurance

Just renewed the insurance with direct line, mentioned about having a stainless steel exhaust and they said that will be a mod then – we will be having £63 off you for that.

Left it too late this year, but will be looking around next year.

No, they think it will be enhancing the performance
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I know it is a performance related issue from their perspective, but the thing that niggled me was hearing from other members how their insurance companies did not bother.

At least they know about it now anyway, if something happened.

I can’t really feel any performance difference, it just sounds better.

Same happened to me with Liverpool Victoria. Fitted the twin Magnex exhaust and was stung by about £60 IIRC.

Not sure if it's because of performance issues, replacement cost or the car is now more attractive to thieves...

It's basically any excuse to get more money out of you.

I had the same trouble with my last car pug 406 (fitted with a stainless steel exhaust) put on to reduce costs for me

That will be £50 extra (direct line) as its more attractive to thieves

i went on to say it just looks the same as the standard one unless you look underneath the car & all i got was it's more attractive to thieves
