Drivers Door lock problem

Hi all, does anyone know how best to tackle a problem with a Vectra C door being closed, yet my central locking on the fob will not lock it. The HUD inside the dash states that my door is open, and signals through it's built in speaker. Not sure why this has started to happen, just got out my car the other day and tried to lock, and saw the malfunction straight away.

Would simply removing the positive battery terminal, waiting a few seconds, then later re-fitting fix this?

The interior light switch is inside a sealed unit I believe (part of the door stay mechanism). Need to remove the door panel to access it.

A search on here *may* well reveal whether someone has repaired one or not.

Hi all, did have a look for a post and found Calvin advised to adjust the striker plate, can someone tell me where to locate the "Striker" plate so that I can adjust this. I have removed the complete door panel and not found this torque 45 bolt with arrows locating different settings. Any help on this owuld be appreciated, and by the way its a Vectra C Elegance '03 plate.

it's the plate on the B pillar.. the one next to your seat that the door locks on to...you just need to slightly slaken the two torx bolts and push it back towards the door seal about a mm at a time till the door says it's closed on the display..

Thanks for the reply, gave it a go and what I did was slightly unscrewed the panel, and thought that I moved it. Tightened up the bolts again and closed the door and upon waving my fob at it, it locked! However, I looked back at the work I did and noticed that really I hardly moved the striker plate. This happened to me last time so I am going to see how I goes. I hope I don't have to take my torque wrench to work, good luck to the missus!

Had the annoying, driver's door open warning light on when door is closed and car won't lock problem, followed gsi's advice and hey presto. Warning light off and car can be locked.

Another few quid saved due to the forum.
