Default I worked on the Vulcan today

While it's been getting worked on in our place I offered to do some work on it as it hasn't been painted since 1986.
The lads jumped at the chance to get some paint renewed so I repainted the red of the upper wing roundels and the fuselage roundels because it'd faded so badly. It's a great old plane.

At least you'll be able to see that it's ex-air force now when banking.

It went on an air test this evening. What a sight that was. Just before it got dark it taxied up and parked right outside my office. ****** awesome.

Definitely Steve. I always say it reminds me of Concorde in some ways. Sat on top of those wings today, they're absolutely massive. What a profile.

Remember when I was a kid and seeing the Vulcan doing it's stuff at Biggin Hill Air Show and particularly the vibrations that went through my whole body when it did steep climbs over the crowd.
    As you said ******* awesome!!!

I wanted to do the blue too ditch but the red was still tacky when it went out for it's run. If it's still around (the forecast is that it won't be as it's repairs went well) I'll do it. It's rare that we do such stuff nowadays. I'm more used to cutting a roundel out on a computer for something like a Tornado, only you can't do that with this old girl as the upper wing roundels are 72" in diameter!

Yes I've seen the craters Steve. Stood in them, in fact. It took something like 11 Victors to do the air-to-air refuelling for a solitary Vulcan.
