    Default got my sri!!! burning smell!!

    very impressd by the 1.8 vvt engine and the uprated suspension and im loving the look of it
    just 1 thing i can smell a sort of burning smell when driving? is it because it needs running in?

    If its brand new then it could be the insulation near the exhaust, I seem to remember something about it on here in an old thread
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    thats the smell of the 1.8 revving - lol

    you should not have a "burning" smell, is it coming from the front/back, only when engine is hot, or after 2mins of running etc etc more details pls!

    not sure if its when i put my foot down ( i havent pushed the revs any higher than 4000rpm)
    ill drive normal today and see what happens,and then if nothing smells ill push revs a bit harder!

    no sure were its coming from either

    Probably the newness of the drivetrain.

    All new cars I've ever owned suffer from the occasional hot, burny smell for the first 1000 miles or so.

    It'll pass. Don't go hammering it too much mind!!

    did u take the handbrake off ? i did that once and i had a burning smell,the brakes could even be stuck
