Whilst at work this morning Larisa rang me...............Your dad is in a car crash. You can imagine what went through my mind then. I asked is he ok. Don,t know she said. Where is it, she told me so I dropped everything and ran out of work, my mates holding the doors open as I ran off. When I got to the scene, the road was blocked off by Two police cars, There were Two fire engines Two Ambulances and Three "fast response" Para Medics Verhcals there. I drove through the road block and left my motor as not to be in the way. Then I saw my dads car "oh my god" I thought it was embedded into the corner of the wall of a railway bridge, the front end was bent up into a Vee up to the windscreen. The police asked if I was his son. Yes I said, then they said he is still in the car, The fire service has got to cut him out. His "Girl friend" has been removed and is in the Ambulance being treated by the Para Medics. I was allowed to go and see him. I stuck my head in thrrough the pasenger door, He was on Oxegen but was not too bad. The steering wheel was bent out of shape. He must has hit it with his chest as the front of the car came forward towards him and his girlfriend. When the fire Service cut him out they took him off to Hospital, His girlfriend already on her way. By now Larisa had arrived at the scene, and was able to see both my dad and his girlfriend. seeing us both reasured them both quite a bit. After a chat with the Police Larisa and I went up to the hospital, they were tending to their wounds, but did say they were ok, and were off to X ray for more tests. From what they were able to say at the time sounded promising. But when you are "old" an impact like that can shake you up a bit. My dads girlfriends legs were swollen. When they have finished in the assesment unit they will be off to a ward. I will know more about their conditions later when I go back up. I take my hat off to the Emergency Service for their responce to the incident, and how they treated Larisa and I and told us all they could at the scene.
