Default cost of servicing at VX

go on then, what are you paying for a full service round your way at a VX dealer??
I've been quoted £170 by my local independent garage, for a full service using all GM parts.

Mine is booked in for 4th Service (a major service) on my 2.0T for £130 at a small customer-friendly VX dealer. My 3rd service was done there for £89. There are dealers out there who get more of a buzz providing good service at reasonable prices, than ripping people off.

The current economic climate may be forcing main dealers to lower prices. My local main dealer if offering a major service for £149, an interim (minor) service for £79, and interim service + mot for £99, to customers they have lost (like me).

I have a 1.8 and do my own servicing with the backup of a manual to check what needs to be done over what period. With a good engine oil, three filters, plugs, 'o' ring for sump plug etc I normaly can expect change from £60 with the parts being obtained from my local motor factors. And you have the satisfaction of knowing it has been done well, and in your own time. At first there may be an outlay on special tools, the sump plug requires one, but this is a one off cost. As I said with a manual, Haynes for example, it is not a difficult operation. Try it and save money to put into the tank!!!

Anyone here had a 3.0 V6 CDTi SRi serviced recently?.

My dash is giving me the "Oi......!!!!....Get me serviced, sharpish!!!" symbol on the display now.

I've had mine serviced twice in the last 12 months
I get mine done for free as part of the warranty deal, but when I asked for the prices they were :
    1st service / 30K miles £185
    2nd service / 60K miles £235
