Default Help with tabbed browsing please?

Can anyone help? I have recently had problems with Internet Explorer, basically it would not work. I have since reinstalled Internet Explorer and disabled and cleared all Activex add ons. Since the reinstall though I can not click on a link and go to that web page, although if I copy and paste, it works fine. I remember seeing somewhere an option to enable tabbed browsing, but I can't find it. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
    Thanks
    John

Can I recommend trying Firefox as your browser - I've found it to be much more reliable and it had tabbed browsing licked first

Have tried Firefox and Opera, but I prefer Internet Explorer, probably because I have used it for so long.

in IE7, click on tools (top right), then internet options. Then, on the general tab, in the tabs section click settings. Select the top box and any other settings - such as open home page for new tabs. Close and restart IE.

The first time you open a new tab, you should get a message page - click the don't show this again box.
