    Default AutoBrite Meet August 2008

We had a great day out ... big thanks to Mark @ AutoBrite and our own ParaPaul for the organisation and also a huge thanks to the burger van that arrived to feed us mmmmmm!

Here are a few pics of the day:

Early(ish) on with only Paul (Parapaul), Chris & family (VectraGsi3.2), me and Ailsa (Mrs Dave) & a couple of Ford lads but loads of room for lots of cars (still hopeful at this point)

The rest of the Vectra-C gang turned up a little later in the morning followed by a few more Ford lads and a chap in a Volvo (from Detailing World we think):

Then it was time for the polishing machine demo and I was VERY tempted but in the end managed to resist (for now!):

    Ian supervises:

Ian shows the demo guy how it's done and checks for beading before upsetting demo guy by using his polishing off cloth to absorb the water :

Very impressive results for not a lot of work with the machine ... from this:

to a few moments with this:

    to this:

    Dave

I'm impressed by the boot, mine has a scratch like that across the boot from when a gazebo wrapped itself around the car

Are the machines hard to use ?

Mind if I post my pics here too?

Well, I was the first one there, secretly hoping to manage a session in the washbay because my car is minging, hasn't been washed for a week and a half!

This was my first experience of machine poliching - and even without the spiel from the rep (who was under the impression we were all professional detailers, not car enthusisats ) it was easy to see just how much time and effort could be saved. No clay, just straight on with the gloop and hey presto - glossy, smooth paintwork!

Then as Dave said above, Ian asked about beading and gave the newly polished bonnet a good wetting. Didn't take very much water before it ran off in great big drops. Very nice

And ably assisiting during they day.... The world's one and only... Detailing Doggie!!

And I couldn't resist after seeing the demo - I've taken the plunge and ordered a machine polisher! Should be here in time to christen it for TRAX
