    Default pre facelift radio steering wheel controls

    hi peeps can any1 tell me if the radio steering wheel controls on my 54 reg (the ones with the circles rather than the scroll buttons) pull straight off or do i need to remove the steering wheel & will the scroll buttons go straight on without any moddin..

    Should be a screw behind each one holding them to the wheel, undo those and then carefully tug on the switches and they should come off.

    if you change the controls from buttons to the wheel im sure they will not work or at least thats what i was told

    Buttons from what I've read on here are half canbus cars and scroll buttons are full canbus cars.

    Correct, they won't work. Its major hassle to do it and not sure anyone has bothered.

    As has already been said, 3 buttons either side are half canbus and scroll wheels are full canbus.

    will changing the wheel make any diff..not to sure what canbus is all about

    Nope!

    If you have a half canbus car you cannot fit any full canbus parts.

    CANbus is the method the car uses to talk to various parts and is all done by ECU's sending signal rather than voltage to do the switching.
