    Default Brake pad warning light...

I'm guessing when the brake pad warning light comes on its the front pads that'll need replacing?? secondly how long do you normally have left on the pads before changing once the light is on cos I've had my light on for 2 months now and no signs of grinding etc lol

    *edit*
Just read the handbook and it says front pads are the minimum thickness and must be changed yet mine are still fine after 2 months of quite a bit of mileage.

I've just got away with 4 weeks and 1000 miles
At the end of the fourth week the warning stopped, as the cable had burnt through!

think you would be able to tell for yourself when they are totally done through the feeling in the brake pedal ie a judder or even a noise comming from the brakes especially when braking hard

Its strange as its stopping fine, I've done a fair bit of mileage and I've not been driving the car any different to normal but the pads for now still want to carry on lol

Hmm this is very odd my brakes are still refusing to blow up not sure if its just a faulty sensor I have as its been on for 5 months and I've done thousands of miles on them since.

I was given an M.O.T failure for "front pads insufficient lining", there was about 2mm left. I changed them anyway as there is no point in waiting for them to start groaning and grinding and possibly damaging the disc.

The discs will need changing anyway but the pads still look fine, I'd rather not pay out until I have too.
