you will need to prise it out carfully from the out side as its just held in by three clips
if you try from the outside you risk cracking the light or even damaging your paint. done this change and removed the interior trim and did it from the inside. choice is yours though
i tryed mine and it was in a boxed in section
seen that mentioned before on here, mine was accessible from the inside of the tailgate.
Think i will attempt from the inside to...dont want to paint anything else...unless i get somethings worth painting
If you dont mind "mullering" the red one, which is what I did, just yank out from the outside (ensuring not to damage paintwork of course) then just pop new one in.
Did mine last month. If you have not got access from the inside after removing the trim panel, the vauxhall technical information sheet states you have to drill three holes in the cover to undo the bolts. When you look at the steel cover you can see three dimples marked on the panel where to drill. Use a 5mm drill and don't forget to touch up the edges with a little paint to stop it rusting. The bolts are 4mm hex key from what I remember, but if you have a new light it will be the same size. You only have to unscrew the bolts a couple of turns to release the clips. When I tried from the outside I had no luck and didn't want to chance damaging the paintwork.
thats good advice that tridley i totally smashed my red brake light out with a small joiners bradall and chisel and screwdrivers endeed up in little pieces
i put plenty of masking tape all round to make sure i didn't scratch the paintork around the brakelight
wish i knew what u knewcould have put my red light on ebay
