Well the other night while on COD4 my screen went all weird, lots of strange bars of colour etc. A quick reset seemed to sort it out with no problem. However, today, switched on for a few games, I have one red light - bottom right hand one - and a message E74. I called the support and they will be collecting it from my house and taking it for repair but it could take 2-3 weeks!

At least its a free repair. Anyone know what they will do to it? what this repair is for?

They will swap it for a different machine, or replace the motherboard. not sure what an E74 is.

strange bars of colours sounds as if the gpu of the video card is overheating, leads to artifacts on screen and strange angular spectrums of colours

Bottom Right means its a hardware failure whilst error code 74 lists as follows

E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU.

Basically means the graphics chip gave up the ghost with the same sympton being corrupted graphics and blocks before it goes bang.
