    Default Washer Jets!

I once blocked them up by mixing the fliud up with too much consentrate. A mechanic mate of mine unblocked the lines and told me not to mix it so rich.
So, when i refilled it that day i made up a batch of VERY VERY VERY weak wash (About one centimeter of consentrate in a 2 litre bottle!) and put it in.
    TWO DAYS later, blocked, AGAIN!

Is this a common plroblem with Vec C's or something??

And is there any easy way to clear it myself without going to the garage with my tail between my legs? "Ooops, i did it AGAIN! DUUUUR!"

Could someone instruct me? I know theres an access point somewhere under the body of the front passenger side wing? Right????
    Please help!

I know on the Vectra B the rubber filter in which the motor/pump fits gets gunked up all the time.

All you had to do was cut the end off it and no more blockages,

I know this sounds madness but I use pure concentrate, I never mix with water, not least during the winter months. Never had a problem with that... you may just be unlucky..

I had a similar problem with my old Zafira. The washers blocked up. It turned out to be some sort of algae growing in the tank which caused it all to fowl up - weird. Once Vx had flushed it through all was fine.

My washers started having very poor pressure and today they stopped alltogether!

I accessed the washer bottle by turning the NS wheel into the wheel arch you can remove the 2 screws securing the inner wheel arch liner to the bumper, then you can get to the pump and pipes.

i removed the pump and put it in a bucket of water tried it and it works.
so the blockage was in the washer bottle. i removed the rubber gromet which the water pump locates in and found it was covered in a thick stringy blue mucas which must have built up over the past 75K miles. removed the sludge and also removed the washer level float switch further along the bottle, this again was covered. finally power flushed the bottle clean of any other contaminants.

all parts cleaned and replaced now washers are better than ever.

I wouldnt recommend cutting off the filters on the gromet as this would allow the sludge to travel around in the washer jet pipes and block those up!!!

Your not wrong! right pain in the sigbum.

Well worth the 30mins effort as VX wanted £69 just to have a look and recommended they fitted a new pump whilst they were there!!!!!!

popped into the local motor factors and picked up some cheap screen wash pills, look like big blue smarties! no need now to measure out washer concentrate!

The bug kill count on my car is amazing so i need a good screen wash!
