I reckon it is of limited benefit.

Turbocharging and Supercharging is an exact science. Turbos have to be matched to engines by manufacturers.

I suppose that the 20bhp that they're quoting is achievable, but I reckon this would vary from engine to engine.

I'm almost certain that you'd have to disconnect the battery for a time and let the ecu reset itself so that the ecu can get used to the engine running with forced air induction.

I can see it working on older technology engines better than our modern vec-c's IMHO.

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES! spanner light doesn`t sound good, think i`ll pass.

P.s i done the airbox mod a while back and never noticed any difference will disconnecting the battery and reseting the ecu help this?

I reckon the jurys out on this one. IIRC, Drinky once said that it's beneficial, but I remember someone else doing an airbox mod and still noticed the difference.

Lest we forget, It is standard workshop practice to disconnect the battery before starting work on any car, so we should do it really.

I have to agree with Drinky.. in fact i don't know anyone who's done the mod and not noticed a smoother running engine...
