    Default what filter?

Hi all i have a 2.2 nondirect ecotec sri, i`ve done the airbox mod a long time ago and am now thinking about getting a half decent filter as my paper one needs changing. Im just wondering which one is the best a cone or a panel filter and which make is the best K&N, JETEX or something elese. the main reason i want a filter is the the engine sounds awful. Very sewing machinish. my mechanic serviced it 2 months back (changed oil, oil filter, plugs) and it sounded slightly better for 2 days then sounded tinney again (Dont know the best way to describe the noise it makes but every ecotec engine i have had sounds the same). basically i`m looking a filter with a bit of grunt to make my car sound better.....and i`m interested in a big exhaust my cat can sleep in either!

    Thanks in advance

THanks gsi, was looking at k&n panels on ebay, what is the induction kit ? i`m a spark and engine stuff i leave to my mechanic friend. i`m imagining its an intake pipe or something? p.s i got the wing fixed yesterday, got the car back today, £250 all in, think he didn`t put a new clip on the bumper tho as where it meets the wing its ever so slightly off but for £250 im not complaining. Your estimate was very acurate!!

just use a panel filter.. the induction kits have problems with heatsoak and can actually drop your power...

Most 16 valve four cylinder engines lack a nice sound. Perhaps with the exception of Honda Type R VTEC's!!!!!!!!

V6's are the ones to go for if you like a nice engine sound
