Default Phone wiring into a CD70 Navi

    Hi Guys

I had a nokia phone kit in my last Signum last which I was able to wire in myself and being an electronics engineer I could do no probs now good old vauxhall have changed the wiring so no easy connector behind the glove box! what a pain why do they do this ? is it just to pee everyone off?
QUESTION IS CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME WITH THE CONNECTION DETAILS FOR THE MUTE AND SPEAKER CONNECTIONS FOR THE CD 70 NAVI RADIO ? look forward to any replies and thanks v in advance

You will need the mute lead as it comes with a resistor you may need to put in the speaker input line .

The Mute connection is pin 11 and the speakers are bottom righthand corner looking from the rear of the radio. The speaker cable with the strip should be in the bottom corner and the other in the next terminal above.

Doesn't the head unit have a phone input direct on one of the pins, like the CDR2005?

When I fitted my handsfree kit, I only had to connect 3 wires to the head unit and sound came thorugh the front speakers with volume control off the HU or steering wheel controls and the CD or radio muted when in call.

One was the mute wire, grounding when in call
the other 2 wires were the earth and signal wires coming from the speaker socket off the handsfree brain.

I couldn't justify the cost of £25 for 3 wires (and I don't even think the earth wire for sound signal is actually required anyway, as brain and HU have a common earth - the car)

The details of pins for CDR2005 are in_this_thread

But your HU may be different, i don't know as I've not seen the wiring behind it all.
