grinding noise turning right

hi just noticed today that my car is making a rather bad grinding noise when the car is turning right this noise is visible at any speed but especially low speeds. the noise is coming from the front of the car. it isnt there when turning left. any help would be appreciated

is that an expensive job, are they changed in pairs. it`s a really quite loud noise is there a check i can do myself before i take it to a garage. will it do any long term damage before i get it fixed

no only 23000 miles on car but checked ands also no brake warning light on. is sound like two uneven pieces of metal rubbing hard together. also its a 3.0 cdti does the extra weight make them prone to any faults

The cv joint normally makes a clicking noise quite loud when its on it's way out & its usually the outer joint which goes, if it is the joint you are looking around £200 ish for the part, then prob an hour labour on top.

Maybe backplate behind brakedisc´s is touching brakediscs.

Nice one for the advice though I've got this noise when turning left, will check that backplate later!
