Default Redex, (diesel) any good? what benefits?

Gonna grab some redex for my 2.2 Sri DTI i think, although i have read the label etc, what does it actually do (i.e what actually works, and what is noticeable)?

Ive just bought some, first dose just put in. First impressions, once you take the lid off the bottle I thought there would be some sort of nozzle, but no. So its hard to judge the amount you need with the speed it comes out. Performance wise I havent really noticed any difference yet, but as it says it cleans your injectors etc, ill leave it for a couple of weeks and see what happens (ie if i gradually notice the difference).

    Anyone else got any experiences?

i use it quite regulary, i think its very good. I like to keep my fuel system very clean especially on the dti as the fuel pump is quite prone to failure anyway. i use it differently to what is said on the bottle. a mechanic friend of mine told me to run the fuel really low (like 10 miles left in the tank) and put the whole bottle in run that out (until 0 on trip comp or flashing fuel light) and get to a petrol station and fill up about half way.

By doing this you effectively "power clean" the fuel system and there is still a little left in the tank for the fill up, enough for about half a tank.

Unless you are using it regularly, you won't notice any difference
An alternative is to switch from standard diesel to a premium diesel, however again you need to be using this for at least four or five full tanks before you notice any difference

I use millers & have been for a good few year now, although in other motors i have used redex & also the lucas stuff too.
Dont be worried about putting too much in you wont do any harm, when ever i have used it in a motor for the first time i have always used a double streangth dose & with only half a tank of fuel along with a good old blast with the right foot.

So I went to their other branch, and it too had closed!
This now means I will need to make a round trip of near on 100 miles to the next nearest branch, asuming it hasn't closed either!

I used to get my diesel cleaner from Costco - STP Diesel cleaner 2x500ml fro about £6 (use to use it in my company car - Vec B 2.0DTi).

I've carried on using it in my Vec C 2.0DTi, however Costco have stopped doing STP and now sell Redex instead 2x500ml for about £8.

Not sure what it does, haven't noticed any difference - I think it's a confidence thing (I use supermaket fuel mainly as it's generally cheaper).
