I have been told that our local dealer will perform a remap on my car, say that it will get it upto 190bhp (150 cdti). Don't know any more details yet as it was relayed by someone else.
Anyone else had this offered?

whats the catch?
they make money and invalid your warranty at the same time - so they make even more money!
Are they an agent for someone like EDS?
buhaha... dealer offering remaps? I've heard it all now.
If it's not a joke, I suppose you should just ask them straight what it would mean to your warranty, and get it in writing before doing anything.
Well yes of course I would do that. Maybe it's only for cars out of warranty as a money making sideline. Still my Boss thought it was a good idea as it 'supposedly' improves fuel consumption. Yeah cause my caterman box does that...not
A few dealers offer remaps - not many, but a few. If I went for a remap again I'd probably go that route, because while the remap does technically invalidate your warranty, the dealer should offer a separate warranty to cover anything going wrong as a result of the remap...
Or they put it back to standard when it breaks. It's Vauxhall who pay the money and they would require telling, which I suspect wouldn't happen.
OK, spoke to them yesterday. It's only a box they fit, i.e increase fuel pressure, and they wanted £300. They said it would increase the 150 to 205 lol.
Don't think so for that price.
The Thurlby group are selling DTUK box's under the Thurlby Sport banner, and Thorney Motorsport have set up a few dealers to offer Superchips re-maps.
The interesting thing is this, Thorney Motorsport bought the servicing & warranty package from Vauxhall for a rumoured £80+k which allows them to do approved warranty work. With this, it is alledged that they said any car tuned by them would not be void of warranty.
The story goes that Vauxhall heard about this and sent a letter to dealers stating their franchise could be stripped if they did warranty work with the knowledge that the car had been tuned.
This is of course a story I have heard from a few sources so the accuracy of it may not be 100% right.
