Default How do I get this back to red?

    Hi All,
I bet this has been asked a million times before but I need some help, how do I get my 53 plate Veccy back to being red? the bonnet, roof and boot lip have all gone a pinkish colour and recently it looks like somethings been spilt on it. About 3 months ago my friend and I tried to polish it back to normal, it looked OK for about a month and its gradually gone back to pink. I'm not great at keeping the car clean but I'd like to start!

here's some pictures of the colour change (on my iphone so sorry for the quality)

    PLease help!

Auto Glym super resin polish and lots of hard work or a machine polish. Avoid parking in the sun and use a good wax with regular top ups.

I would look into getting it properly machine polished by someone on Detailing World. Red paint tends to fade and oxidise quite bad, something to do with the pigments in the paint IIRC.

Here's a thread on DW where they brought a red Astray back from pinkness!

As the other posters have said... a bit of hard graft.

This is one of the reasons I would never buy another red car,
its the worst colour for fading and being damaged by the dreaded bird droppings. I've had 3 or 4 red vehicles over the years and all suffered from this problem, in fairness I did once have a red vw polo and this did not suffer from it quite so bad (perhaps I polished it more) accordig to a body shop sprayer I once spoke to re. this, and he said its something to do with the pigments in the paint. Red the worst affected and white the least affected.

Vauxhall Red paint is known for fading more than others. Only way to get the colour back is a full respray/blowover
