    Default 1.8 vvti clutch saga

Spent some time reading all previous threads on this apparently well known problem of clutch judder. I have same problem, been to the dealer who informed me that if it is found to be juddering on a test drive then I must pay up front for the removal of the parts for examination, the clutch is covered for 1500 miles, which is not a lot!!!They want two and a half hours labor charge before they will even start. Gave them the info from this fantastic site, claimed that they have not heard of this common problem. THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY OTHER CARS IN EITHER!!!!Is it me? is everyone making it up? I have to say the dealership is the most frustrating to deal with,( Pentagon Derby) Aftrer the last service I discovered oil on my drive, opened the lid to discover oil all over the block, no doubt missed the hole and could not be arsed to wipe it off, they even lied about this.
Anyway does anyone know where I stand re the labor charges and warranty cover, my car is not yet two years old with 12,000 on the clock. Has anyone been successful of late re getting the clutch replaced?

They say the clutch is only covered for 1500 miles. I find that a load of crAp I'd get in touch with VX customer care and find out were you stand. Sounds like you have a nightmare dealer.

Had my clutch plate and flywheel replaced at my local dealers @ 14K on a 12 month old 1.8 SRI free of charge without any problems. Try taking it to another dealer as sounds like they are trying to rip you off mate.

    rolleyes Clutch saga update

Finally clutch and fly wheel replaced under warranty. Stood my ground and insisted that they get a case number and agreement from vx to pay in full. It took 30 minutes but hey they coughed up. Only down side was that I had to return the following day and spend another hour there while they re tracked the steering because the steering wheel was way out of alignment. Why can't dealers do the ****** job right the first time?they obviously don't give a toss about customers wasting their lives away hanging around their grotty reception areas. Defo gonna find another dealership although it means traveling.
