Default Will it fail an MOT?

Will my car fail it's MOT for having a small crack in the windshield?

It's only about the size of a 5p peice but it's in the drivers line of vision. I had autoglass come out and look at it, and they tried repairing it but couldn't. The bloke said that he'd never seen one like it before and couldn't guarantee that it'd pass without fitting a new windscreen.

My MOT isn't due until November so i have plenty of time to get a new screen if needed, just wondered if any of you have any ideas as to what constitutes a fail as far as windshields are concerned.

As far as i'm aware, any sort of crack in the wiper sweep is an MOT fail.

If it's in the sweep of the wipers it'll fail.

to be 100% sure, you just need to pop it along to your local MOT centre and ask them to 'advise' you if it will pass or not...they will tell you without prejudice.....

Ive had a chip directly in my vision, in front of my steering wheel, which has been repaired by autoglass. It is just under the size of a 5p, not much in it though. It passed its MOT at vauxhall, I got a deal with a service at the same time. Its damn annoying sometimes though, but it leaves £60 excess in my pocket for the time being.

If yours is actually cracked though it will probably fail? Wont a crack anywhere fail an MOT regardless of wiper sweap?

Its not just the swept area I think - its a combination of drivers view and within the swept area - have a look at this
