Question Opinions on new suspension and springs

I've been meaning to change the suspension on my Vectra now for nearly a year, but things have been getting in the way, but now i've finally got round it.

I've got a 1.8 SXI (sports suspension as standard)

What shocks and springs do you guys recommend for a nice comfortable ride?

I've got 18" alloys with low profiles on, so this with rubbish suspension meansthe ride is pretty terrible at the moment.

I may replace the arm and links as well just for the sake of it.

I've got a budget of around £500 for the parts, but the more change I have left, the happier the other half will be

I've been looking at the Bilstein but don't know which to get, or if anyone recommends anything differenet. And springs to go with them.

    Thanks
    Dan

    For your £500...

    Eibach Pro-Kit, £130 from LMF
Bilstein B4 dampers, £150ish from LMF
    Drop links, £10 from EuroCarParts

And enough left to take the good lady out for a meal - you gotta keep them sweet!

are the Bilstein B4s ok? they seem to be the cheaper of the range. Also, The SXI has the sports suspension same as SRI, so if I put the B4s on, will the ride be higher? or the same..?

I've also seen these on LMF - very cheap for a full kit:
    Supersport Sprint Suspension Kit - Vectra C - (£258.49 to £270.24)

    Any advise guys?

If you fit the Eibach's it will lower it around 15-20mm more than a standard SRi set up

    B4's are fine... B4 + Eibach = Irmscher setup

The springs determine the ride height, not the dampers. With Eibach springs fitted the ride height will be slightly lower than the SXi, but the handling improvement is amazing.

Never heard of Supersport, but if LMF sell it, it's probably OK. It's TUV approved so won't be complete tat anyway

Is it worth just getting the springs alone ?

And what to get Irmscher or Eibach pro ?

Fitted Pi Springs to my SRi which brought it down another 15mm on the standard setup and the ride and handling is spot on.

Snowman, you got your ears on?
