    Default Help with web browsing.....

Hope someone can help with the problem i'm having with the internet at the unit.

the best way of describing it is that my browser seems to have a timer to which it'll download stuff, say for instance i've opened a thread with lots of pictures, it'll never download all the pictures, it's like it'll download for 30 seconds or something and then just freezes. same for watching video clips or downloading.

is there a setting i can change to tell it to keep downloading for longer?

i think the route of the problem is the really rubbish internet connection speed that i've got at the unit, it peaks at around 0.75Mb - and that's due to the distance i am from the exchange.

I've had similar problems in the past and I found out it was due to my antivirus software. I was using PC Guard free from Telewest. Uninstalled it and problem over. Try turning off yours and see if that works?

interesting....i'll give that a go and see what happens. but it's happening on both the desktop and the laptop and i'm pretty sure they're running different antivirus software. however both are Windows Vista.

BT Voyager modem which i want to keep as it allows voice over IP and a Belkin Wireless G router.

come to think of it i don't recall having this problem before going wireless. could that have something to do with it?

TBH its mainly down to your speed. I had issues with this before, and once I had a quicker connection it went away. I "think" its a time delay for loading pages, so say, once 30 secs are reached it stops.

It may be worth checking for firmware updates for both the Voyager and the Belkin, as well as updates for your PC's as well (in case there are wireless driver updates available etc).
