Turbo exchange?

My brain's been making plans my bank balance can't afford...again...

But in theory, could I swap the low pressure turbo from my Z28NEL for the high pressure one from a Z28NET? Would it be as simple as remove and refit, or would it need complicated a Tech2 session to control boost?

Or would it just not work?

Just thinking that there's bound to be some scrapped VXRs around eventually....

turbo technics do a nice littel upgrade for the vxr and i cant see why its not a one off one on job on yours then just tech 2 the new boost in

A strange thing on my car is that its a Z28NET engine fitted in a vectra elite, its only a 230 bhp version. The strange thing is that its running Z28NEL software. Does this mean I already have the high boost turbo??
If so does this mean in theory i could remap the same as a Vxr?

Are the turbo's different on those two engines? or is it just software?

I was kinda under the impression that the nel was low pressure, and the net was high pressure. They tried to put z28net software on mine but it would not take it as all the other things where for z28 nel.
Its a nightmare maybe i would have problem if I go for the BSR PPC

Just out of interest, how do you know it's a low pressure turbo? Are there any markings on it to identify it?

Only what i have been told by bloke I know at Vauxhall, May be incorrect information. I will ask him to see if there are any markings.

Surley its only low pressure due to the software? Anyone know if there are any phisical differences?

Just asked him and he has confirmed it is the same unit, just the software controlls its boost output. So the z28nel runs low pressure boost. The z28net runs high pressure boost.

So please can some one be a test pilot for the bsr ppc upgrade as i'm to chicken to order with no feed back on it for this engine!!
