I'm back from Cuba and even a hurricane couldn't ruin it!

Well after a nightmare journey home- plane 3 hours late, emergency landing at Gatwick with fire engines etc, towed off run way then the delights of the M25 being shut I'm back!

What an amazing country! The most awesome beaches I've ever seen. The country is 40 years behind the modern world thanks to the USA but all the people seem to be happy even if they have nothing! Fantastic people who especially with a little bribe will do anything for you! The hurricane currently in Florida killed quite a few in the Dominican Rep but pretty much missed us! Really pleased to have been there and a couple of pics for you-

The hydraulics went-they told us afterwards that was why it was originally 3 hours late!!!

Could say it was blowy Shan!!! Glad you're not in FL at the mo! That same hurricane seems to have left Fl and gone back 5 times and they've had about 3 feet of rain! My Dad's house in FL looking dodgy-got alligators roaming his street and no reply from his caretaker!!! It killed a lot in Dom Rep and Haiti but all we got was a bit of wind, rain and lightning. Lot of the rest of Cuba got pasted though! BBC world never mentioned it though till it hit FL!

Never went to Havanna though unfortunately or would have got a lot more cars! Old Yanks and Ladas seem to be the main thing although some Jap and Korean cars coming through. It's like going back 60 years traffic wise but the Yank blockade has left a seiously backward country- a lot of propaganda posters still everywhere but beautiful people who have nothing but just seem to smile all the time! No drugs, practically no crime, no guns etc etc so who really is happiest????
