    Default R.I.P. Vectra

As of 17:00hrs on Friday. The Vectra I have owned for nearly six years was involved in an accident. We were sitting stationary in a line of traffic, when a woman driving a VW Passat decided to use us as a stopping aid. This then pushed us under the Avensis in front.

Mrs redbullkid was thrown forward and hit the dash that came back to meet her. She suffered minor injuries and was taken away in an ambulance as a precaution. She is now fine although a little sore.

Result is that the boot is now around six inches shorter than before, and also the front. The airbags did not go off, which I am a bit surprised at. There was absolutely no damage to the Avensis that we could see, as we really did go under it.

We have been informed that it will most probably be a write off, on a plus point we now have a shiney new facelift as a replacement car ------ and yes the suspension and steering is better on the facelifts...

bad news m8 , main thing is everyone is ok . On the plus side you can start thinking of what you gonna get with your compo and insurance payoff !

the passat must have been either going far too fast or paying no attention at all?

Chuffing Nora RBK! As long as everyone is ok, (apart from the stupid bint that rear ended you).

How do you hit a stationary car FFS?

Damage doesn't look too bad from the photo's. Buy it back from the insurance, few new bits then sell it on, make a bit of money back.

Snowman, you got your ears on?

    em...........
Maybe its just up here, but if its someonelses insurance company they do not have the right to have it scrapped?

I had a cavalier that I loved years ago and they tried to write that off on the other parties insurance and I flattly refused!
Id check that like cos i got my cav back (Mplate) in 2001 looking minted and work was guarenteed for a further 3 years, exact same accident as you.

Or was this something that has now changed???
    Anybody know?
regardless hope it all goes well for you bud!

As long as you are both ok m8. The car can be replaced (or repaired)

The stupid cow that hit you needs her license taking off her It really annoys me that these people are still allowed to drive after an accident like this.
If the road was wet and she could not stop then she was obviously travelling too fast, so she should be done for careless driving. If she simply didn't see you then it's driving without due care and attention surely
