    Default Hello, I'm new here!!

    Hi

I thought I'd come and see how you Vec C owners are liking your motors. I've currently got an '02' plate Vectra B but I am looking for a new motor.

I was seriously thinking of going down the Vec B GSi road but the more I think about it the more I realise I can get a much more modern car for similar money.

What is the Vec 'C' of choice then? It seems to me that the CDti 150 ticks all the boxes?

Howdy m8. The 1.9 CDTi is very easy to tune and get around 190+ bhp BUT it is also very fragile. If you were looking at the GSi "B" why not give the 2.0T a go. With a BSR remap stage 1 you are up to around 220bhp and stage 3 around 250bhp

Cheers caterman....I hadn't considered the 2.0T. It does look like a lot of go for your dough I've looked on Autotrader and tidy low milers are available for under 5K. I was looking at paying around the 4Km mark for a Vec B GSi.

How much do the remaps cost and are there any downsides to them?

Jimbob, I've heard nothing but good things about the CDti 150's. I know a lot of folk have put tuning boxes on 'em to improve the performance, which I kinda fancied as I'm after something that's pretty quick!

Remaps .. if you buy a BSR unit from LMF Vauxhall it will cost around £559 but it gives you the option of putting back to standard in a couple of minutes and vise versa ..and its freakin awsome the power difference

I've had 2 1.9's both the 150 engine and with a tuning box from day 1. I had the fuel pump replaced under warranty in the 1st one but that is the only problem i did have.
People do report EGR and swirl valve problems a lot though
